"Our creative process often begins with paper before evolving into a unified body of work with various final forms. However, paper remains the core of our creative journey. A little tiger, a red chair, the sun, a necklace, some fruit each object in this peace is a fragment, not a finished story. The abstract composition on purpose, as a reminder that
the process of recovering one's origins is inherently random and unpredictable, like assembling a puzzle from scattered pieces of an unfinished story much like the way memory and oral history are passed down through generations, broken, faint, yet still carrying traces truth. This work is our attempt, as Tempa, to reflect once more on the long relationship between the self and ancestral land. It is not just meant to look beautiful it's a way of waking up our awareness of place and history, opening up old drawers of collective memory that have sat quietly stored away, waiting to be opened again."
