"Paper has an important role in my creative process. My performances always begin with sketches on paper before I take action and perform them. This work tells the story of farmland intended to be managed organically. However, because the surrounding fields all share the same water source, maintaining organic practices becomes difficult. What happens on one field inevitably affects the others.
The freedom to move feels restricted, as if rubber bands were stretched between the toes. The body becomes a representation of being bound to a system that cannot be fully controlled.
This is where chemical addiction emerges—a dependence on chemicals that has become embedded in the agricultural system and is difficult to break."
