In ‘Tuca Tuca - A Springtime Evening in Rome II’, Sinta Tantra drives inspiration from the Italian song Tuca Tuca performed by Rafaella Carra in a movie titled La Grande Bellezza. The song is an honest, strong expression of lust and love. It has its own playful and unashamed attitude between the natural relationship of a man and woman. With her voice, Carra takes us to the streets of Rome where we find couples kissing and hugging, a rather uncommon sight in both England and Indonesia. Through her ‘Tuca Tuca’ series, Tantra tried to capture this vibrancy and tension by having masculine and feminine colors battling within a space.
