representation of an image I took as I lived in West Sumatra. The work turned into a reminder
for me about the analogy of the ever-present blue sky behind any passing clouds as our inner
peace amidst our passing thoughts. Most of the time we get swayed and overwhelmed by our
train of thoughts and have a hard time coming back to that inner peace. So when I reframed the
way I see it to be ever-present, it brought a new awareness into me and helped me cope with
the hard times. During my stay in West Sumatra, I tried to unlearn several false beliefs that I had
within me and learn new values that would be more prolific to my well being and progress. This
marks a turning point in my creative process as I utilize the medium (painting) to reflect upon my
views about the ups and downs in life and appreciate their ephemerality as they come and go."
