"Paper has been the most constant material in my practice for more than fifteen years. I do not see it as a surface for drawing, but as a body that can absorb pressure, stain, tear, wrinkle, and carry traces of time. Its fragility allows me to work through ideas that are still uncertain, making paper a place where thinking and making happen simultaneously. For me, working with paper is an ongoing practice of paying attention. It teaches slowness, care, and the willingness to let an image change through the process of making instead of forcing it toward a fixed outcome.
This work begins as a study of cultivation, not as the growth of a recognizable plant, but as a body that continuously mutates. Petal, leaf, flesh, and ear dissolve into one another until they become difficult to separate. The form refuses a stable identity, existing somewhere between an organism and a memory of one.

Working with soft layers of color on handmade paper allows the image to emerge slowly, as if it is surfacing from beneath the fibers rather than being placed on top of them. The paper’s rough texture interrupts the drawing, leaving fragments unfinished and porous. Growth here is not smooth or linear; it is uneven, fragile, and constantly negotiating with its own environment.

The work is part of an ongoing interest in bodies that behave like living landscapes, where transformation is less about becoming something new than about continuously shedding and regenerating."
