Archers is taken from both Korean and Japanese archery images with the starting point being Kunisada's Ukiyo-e print of a 47 Ronin archer, 19th century. The other images are from photographs of Korean female archers as well as Japanese Vogue and the self-portrait, a continued theme in my work. The bows in the painting are also distinctly Korean known as Gakgung.
