"This work depicts a hazy view of a hill blocked by a fog after the rain. It’s a view that I always
found mesmerizing which I could find at the back of my residence in West Sumatra. The
landscape was fragmented through three canvases forming a triptych. In this painting, the fog
made the images somehow connected into one despite the line of the horizon being
mismatched. The color was edited to enhance a cold and hazy ambience of the landscape, then
painted making the distortion of color apparent through the painting.
I found the unity between the distorted view and the presented colors to be very intriguing as
you can see the colors are quite different from the typical landscape colors, having a dash of
emerald and reddish hue. It is an impression of time and space, but also of temperature and
ambience."
