"The act of keeping and saving the photos taken out of the mundane is a romantic gesture to me
personally. The images presented depict the corners, views, glimpses of scenes that caught my
eye throughout my journeys and passing moments.
In this painting the divided plane of the canvas can be seen as the three images contrasting
each other in its own character and subject matter. Given in a flow, even with that contrasting
character of each image, the painting itself still induces a sense of familiarity or comfort. As it is
ubiquitous for us to see digital images or archives, it is embedded into our visual glossary.
For me it is interesting to get the usual rectangle/wide portrayal of landscape cropped into
squares, making the portrayal disturbed against its good composition. And when I stitch them
adjacent to each other, it produces yet another rectangle of harmony even though no conjoint
horizon exists within the painting."
