Chinatsu Ban is a Japanese female artists and a member of Takashi Murakami’s Kaikai Kiki artist collective. She is famous in depicting elephants and human figure in a dreamlike composition. Her figures often depicted mixed with plants, especially cactus, and wearing child-like garments. Japanese surrealist paintings are often done as an expression of dissatisfaction towards the real world. Chinatsu Ban’s artwork exists as a support system and encouragement for females, especially in Japanese society. — We are excited to present Chinatsu Ban’s Song of Passing as part of ISA Art & Design selection for Art Moments Jakarta 2020. —
