This work is from FX Harsono "Point of Pain" series. That series talk about how pain a person as a minority feels if he suffers discrimination. This is one of his earlier works that uses the banana leaf as a shield to protect him from the discrimination. In later works FX uses needle as a metaphor that needle pierce the body. Even though the needle cannot kill but it is painful, just as humans if they get discrimination. Whereas butterflies are a metaphor of minority who are vulnerable to discrimination and violence by the majority who have power.
